Masters in Public Policy

The School of Public Policy has launched a program on Masters in Public Policy or MPP in Science Technology and Innovation (STI) and Development in June 2021. For more details on the program, please see the MPP in STI and Development Information Brochure: Click here

Admissions will take place once a year prior to the summer break. We look forward to receiving applications for the MPP program in future admissions cycle. Details of the admission process will be updated on this page.  For information on institute minimum qualification criteria please see the IIT Delhi  information brochure on the admissions page.

The institute offers merit-cum-means scholarships for eligible candidates who are admitted to the program. Details can be sought from the PG Section at IIT Delhi.

MPP Admission

The entrance exam for the MPP in Public Policy will be held on campus on 18 May, 2023. Applicants who have met the eligibility criteria have been informed by email.

Written Exam Date: 18 May 2023 (Thursday)
Reporting Time: 08:00 AM
Venue: Ground floor, Lecture Hall Complex (LHC), IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi

Please be sure to bring the following documents:
1. A printout of the email (which will act as your admit pass to the campus on the exam date)
2. A government issued photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Driving License, Voter ID, etc.). The name must match the application you submitted to IITD
3. The original transcripts of your qualifying degree

We will be verifying these documents before the exam.
Please also bring a black ball-point pen (not a 'gel' pen) to the exam.

Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be interviewed on 19 May 2023 (the venue and schedule will be communicated after the time of the written exam). The interview will be based on three readings. You may also be asked questions related to themes of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) and development, and your specific areas of interest in public policy. The three required readings are here.

PhD in Public Policy

The PhD program in Public Policy aims to train students to perform cutting edge research on questions at the intersection of Science, Technology, Innovation (STI) and development. Prospective students are expected to engage in one of the key research areas of the school. Please refer to the "Research" and "People" tabs to get a better idea of key research areas.

All full-time PhD students admitted to the program receive an institute scholarship. Details can be sought from the PG Section at IIT Delhi.
