Abhishek's research focuses on policy design for low-carbon development. In particular, he is interested in how policies can be designed taking into account multiple policy goals in the energy sector, as well as specificities of the technologies they target. He holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Energy Science and Technology from ETH Zurich, and a Bachelor of Technology in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. During his studies, he received the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship (ESKAS) for international students and the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) Scholarship. In the past, he has worked as a consultant for the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program, as an intern for the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Bonn, and at the Division on Technology and Logistics of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva.
