Sourabh's work broadly focuses on how some recent changes in the Indian economy have affected the most vulnerable sections of Indian society. His research encompasses issues such as castes and labour mobility, access to education, female labour market conditions, among others. Apart from labour economics, Sourabh has diverse interest in science and technology policy and its interplay with macroeconomy. He leads a research group of doctoral students at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and the University of Queensland-IITD Academy of Research (UQIDAR). The group studies a range of issues including R&D persistence and competition; business cycles, firm productivity and resource allocation; knowledge spillovers and technological productivity. Sourabh received PhD in economics from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver and MS in Quantitative Economics from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
